When using a collaborative approach SYNECTICS often utilizes a modified Rapid Application Development (RAD) technique for development projects. This establishes the following process steps:

Scope of effort gives us the first analysis of the project at hand, a cursory look at the tools, current client processes and needs, and timelines. We ask the client to provide a project team member to work with us at this time.

Preliminary design provides an outline, with considerable client collaboration, of the major functions of the product, it may estimate preliminary costs based on various assumptions.

Modeling establishes a first look, probably hard-coded and usually a non-working model of the look and feel of the product. This may include demonstrations of alternatives.

Specifications and final design is actually the most important as well as the most flexible phase. It establishes the total scope and cost as well as the details of databases, methodology, and major features. It also establishes the tools, personnel needs, timeline, and budget.

Development or building allows SYNECTICS to develop the application, provide project management for the internal and external developers, deliver client feedback, and manage vendor support.

Delivery encompasses alpha or initial look and demonstration, and beta systems for final testing and acceptance.

On-going support provides updates as new technology and processes are implemented by the client and allows assessment and refinement of the application or process delivered.

This technique has successfully allowed us to design and deliver products and projects on a client acceptable schedule with flexibility and within budget.

For the software part of our work, we use current generation development tools for rapid development such as: Asymetrix Toolbook; Microsoft Office, Back Office, and Visual Basic; and are open to development on customer defined platforms and other CASE tools. We work with Novell and Windows NT based Ethernet and IP networks. Our success in design and delivery is evidence of our ability to use the most advanced tool sets available to achieve the desired results. Hardware systems are designed and developed to integrate with the users' abilities and resources and are usually state-of-the industry to insure availability and compatibility.

Finally, because we use Microsoft Back Office Solutions, SYNECTICS, Ltd. has an assured inside track at Microsoft to the newest products, expert support, and a potential showcase for you to display and market the final solution. In addition, we also provide consulting services for telecommunications and computing technologies, training in multimedia and emerging technologies, and demonstration and prototype support.
